At the harbour of Saarbrücken, a city in the west of Germany,the pipes of a former industrial granary seem to scrape the sky. A wooden replica of one of the granary’s pipes is installed horizontally in the first floor of the machine tower. It fills the cubic room completely and creates a skater‘s paradise for a unique show. On the rear wall an interactive film is projected that reveals a view into the granary pipes. When the skater drives into the round shape and swings up, he starts the animation: a trip through the 30 m long enlightened pipes of the building. The skater influences the videoprojection with endurance, velocity and height. By moving up and down he generates new images, new shapes of the pipe which finally turn
into rotating hypnotic ligth ornaments.

Footage: 1.200 composed and animated sequences of the interiour pipes, which were photographed with moving light. Motion tracking with the software PD (Pure Data) and webcam.


Am Osthafen von Saarbrücken ragen die Röhren des Getreide-Silos in den Himmel.
Eine Silo-Röhre ist aus dem Kollektiv gestürzt worden. Sie liegt im ersten Stock des Maschinenturms.
In der halben Holzröhre, die den kubischen Raum fast komplett füllt, ist der Skater Performer einer einmaligen Show. Schwingt er sich in die runde Form und befährt die Vertikale des Raumes, beginnt der Trip durch die 30 m tiefen virtuellen Röhren des Silos. Mit Ausdauer, Geschwindigkeit und Höhe steuert er die Projektion, holt aus der Tiefe des virtuellen Raumes neue Röhrenformen hervor und löst ihre festen Formen in rotierende hypnotische Lichtornamente auf.
